A translator's team from ANAFA and I are planning to localize Firefox
in the wolof language spoken in Senegal and in The Gambia. We are based
in Dakar, Senegal.

I have tried to register our team for the wo-SN localization, but did
not recieve any confirmation.
We have extracted the source code (french version, branch 1.8) via CVS
and started the translation. Now we are having trouble compiling the
source code. I am working under WinXP, and I extract the source code
via Cygwin. The compiling procedure seems a bit complicated, is there
any simper procedure I could follow?
Or would it be possible to include the wolof localization in a specific
repository scheduled for nightly builds on the mozilla server?

Thanks for your help,

Issa

Hi Issa,

Please could you translate our app to wolof as well. I know it's a big
ask and out of the blue, but if there's even a little Interest it'd be
great to get the translation at least started. It's much easier to
translate than mozilla because we have a translators web interface.

app:
http://exelearning.org

translation page:
http://pootle.exelearning.org

Please send me an email if you're interested and I'll set up Wolof and
an account on our translation server.

Many thanks
Matthew Sherborne

Hi Issa,

As far as I know you don't need to compile firefox to do a translation.
Just download a binary version and unzip the en-US.jar file and the
en-US.manifest files, and go through the output changing strings.

To test it out, the easiest way is just to re-zip them up again as
en-WO files and in firefox in the menus: edit, preferences, advanced,
general, edit languages, choose "wo".

Blessings
Matthew
